I’m so glad you wrote this even though I am a little late reading it. I totally agree that laughter during sex is ok. I just ended a relationship with someone who was very controlling during sex and would actually get upset when I would laugh and enjoy myself. “Sex is serious business” he would say. Looking back on it now I know he was an asshole.
Again, thanks for writing this piece.

It is a wet Sunday night and as my hubbie watches the olympics I trawl your archives… ah mate. This one’s just top notch. Milord has told me the same on occasion: that the 12 year old is always critising the performance and sometimes messes the whole lot up.

Good to hear it elsewhere ;-).

I’ve been lucky not to have had bedroom snarking ever, but anyone who tried it probably wouldn’t get any more action… how silly is that?!

When I said “freaky” I meant the bizarre, weirdo’s that don’t have teeth that I usually attract…

I AM missing a tooth…but I have a crown to replace it. Where does that leave me on the freaky scale?

Lol…now I have read my second blog of yours….and have been equally delighted by it. And while I cannot conceivably convince you of how wise I am (big smile), I can say I have a pretty good feeling I am much older I am than most everyone here. Yes, I am female, and please don’t judge my grammar….I fell asleep in ‘Eagle Beak” Farlow’s class in 7th grade. Missed the whole basis for the English grammar useage…..and that was back during a time when they still really taught one skills in school, not just how to perform well on measurable tests.

But no matter what one considers ‘normal’ these days or not…..I am fairly certain that even with just this small amount of reading time, any one of even semi- intelligence can see that both DC and TB ARE Real Men…..normal or not….nowadays, I’m not sure guys. But thank God you exist. You give so many women hope that there are more of you out there. Thank you for your services.

And Taoist, I WILL add this line to my quote book, giving you credit of course. “A man is marked by, among other things, the contradictory strength of admitting his weakness. If you canâ€™t admit your own insecurities, then youâ€™re a long damned way from overcoming them.”

Anyone who confuses the “your/you’re” is already halfway to Dimwitsville in my book.

I agree with ya, Charming, and I’m pretty sure I’m a man. [*Grabs at crotch*] Yep, still a man.

There’s a distinct difference between “man-bashing” and “asshole-bashing.” A man is marked by, among other things, the contradictory strength of admitting his weakness. If you can’t admit your own insecurities, then you’re a long damned way from overcoming them.

If “real normal men” are the kinds of people that Charming describes above, then I will gladly call myself anything but a “real normal man.” If you think that’s man bashing, so be it.

[Hey DC, as an aside - feel free not to approve this comment if you'd rather just let the whole thing die. I understand that this may have the effect of stirring the hornet's nest.]

[EDIT:It comes down to this: If you're already a pre-approved commenter, who posts under a consistent identifier, and doesn't hide behind an insulting (and grammatically incorrect) fake name...well, then you get a lot of leeway in your comments.

For example, had Billy of Veggiemacabe (just picking a name at random) said basically the same things, I'd have addressed his points. Not so much for someone who just wants to troll for flames. It's not a perfect system, but it's mine, and that's good enough.]
